As the first citizen of the Mayor will attend over 300 civic, ceremonial and social engagements during her term – it’s certainly not a job for the faint-hearted! The Mayor’s role is varied, from reading out telegrams from the Queen to local residents on their 100th birthdays to hosting civic receptions and attending concerts for local schools and charities. In addition, the Mayor is making it one of her priorities to offer support to local businesses, existing and new and to encourage local economic growth.
