As the first citizen of the Mayor will attend over 300 civic, ceremonial and social engagements during her term – it’s certainly not a job for the faint-hearted!   The Mayor’s role is varied, from  reading out telegrams from the Queen to local residents on their 100th birthdays to hosting civic receptions and attending concerts for local schools and charities. In addition, the Mayor is making it one of her priorities to offer support to local businesses, existing and new and to encourage local economic growth.

If you have an event you would like to invite the Mayor to attend, are opening a new business in the borough, or would like the Mayor to support your business in another way, please do not hesitate to ask – Cllr. The Mayor will also be holding several fundraising events for her two charities, The Royal British Legion and YMCA East Surrey.   If you would like to support the Mayor’s charities in any way, either by providing auction/raffle prizes or attending an event, please get in touch.   Forthcoming charity events include a golf day, a Ladies Luncheon with fashion show and a Black and White Ball with a famous speaker!  Look out for the details in future editions of this bulletin  It would be wonderful to see some of you there.

Invitation to the Mayor’s next business event

The Mayor will be hosting her next Business Event at the Town Hall on Wednesday 7 October at 4.30pm would be pleased if you could join her for the evening.  The Mayor is delighted to be introducing the event which will focus on The Availability of Commercial Space in the South East.   The Mayor hopes to get to know as many representatives from local businesses as possible during her term and looks forward to meeting you there.
