As the first citizen of the Mayor will attend over 300 civic, ceremonial and social engagements during her term – it’s certainly not a job for the faint-hearted! The Mayor’s role is varied, from reading out telegrams from the Queen to local residents on their 100th birthdays to hosting civic receptions and attending concerts for local schools and charities. In addition, the Mayor is making it one of her priorities to offer support to local businesses, existing and new and to encourage local economic growth. If you have an event you would like to invite the Mayor to attend, are opening a new business in the borough, or would like the Mayor to support your business in another way, please do not hesitate to ask – Cllr. Mrs Spiers will always be delighted to help if she can. All you need to do is complete the invitation form on our website.
