Attendance Reminder: Be Wary of the 6-Month Rule
Failure to attend meetings in person for 6 months may result in you losing your seat as a Councillor. You can still attend meetings remotely, but the law doesn’t recognise remote attendance under the 6-month rule. Read more about how the rules affect you here, and check your own attendance here.
O&S Member training
Monday 5th September 6.30pm-8.30pm
This will be a virtual session via MS Teams delivered by the Centre for Governance and Scrutiny. Calendar invitations (containing the MS Teams invitation) have been sent to Members of the O&S Committee and substitutes.
Updated meetings guidance
Our committee meetings guidance has been updated to expand the sections on attendance rules and environmental sustainability. We’ve also added sections on social media use during committee meetings and a policy on acceptable use of the Members’ area.
