Welcome

Find out what the Reigate & Banstead Communications team has been working on this month...

... and, perhaps more importantly, how you can support these campaigns and issues as Council Members.

Upcoming general election

Following the announcement of a general election on 12 December, we are supporting the Electoral Commission's campaign to encourage residents who have never registered, have recently moved or just turned 18 to register to vote at gov.uk/register-to-vote by the 26 November deadline, along with raising awareness of the deadlines for postal and proxy voting.

We'll be doing this in a range of ways, including social media, news items, our website, posters, our community development team and third party partners.

Thank you for your help so far...
... and an upcoming survey on members' allowances

Thank you to all members who promoted our recent surveys to their contacts – your support is really valuable. Nearly 400 people completed the Community Infrastructure Levy survey and we received project suggestions for all parts of the borough. The Planning Policy team is now reviewing these and the other feedback provided.

Plus, almost 400 people took part in our Borough News readers’ survey – we’re looking at the results now.

A survey of residents in a neighbourhood in Horley is taking place in November. The Community Development team will be delivering surveys to around 600 homes. The survey is looking into residents’ experiences of loneliness and how the council may be able to help people feeling lonely.

The Council’s Independent Remuneration Panel will be surveying members in November around their views and experiences of members’ allowances. This is a really important survey that the panel describes as “instrumental” in enabling them to fulfil their role so please look out for it and spend a few minutes filling it out.

Waller Studio is officially open

A huge thank you to everyone who attended The Harlequin's official launch of its newly refurbished Waller Studio.

It was great to see so many friendly faces, including those of our charity partners, Stripey Stork, George and the Giant Pledge and Loveworks.

The 91-seat cinema will show the latest releases - this month’s viewings include Judy, The Good Liar and Frozen 2. For more details, see The Harlequin's website.

We hope to see you there again soon!

Coming up
Two weeks until Our Day

The LGA’s annual 24-hour social media marathon celebrating the people behind public services - known as Our Day - will take place on Tuesday 19 November 2019.

We will again be taking the opportunity to educate and inform audiences about the breadth and variety of what we do.
