Catering opportunity available in Redhill
for the new Sainsburys development

A catering opportunity has arisen in Redhill connected to the redevelopment of the Warwick Quadrent site by the Council, Sainsburys and Aviva.

Timescale: From January 2016 to February/March 2017.

Initially there will be 40-50 people working on the site, this will increase to 200 plus by May 2016. Food will need to be provided for, breakfast, lunch and mid morning and mid afternoon snacks five and a half days a week.  With the potential for some night time service during certain phases of the development.

The developer is offering an equipped kitchen (with the opportunity to influence some specification), and eating area with all utilities included rent free. The catering unit will sit within other facilities offering a well equipped and pleasant environment for site staff.

The food offer should reflect ‘high street’ trends to include healthy and contemporary options, as well as more traditional suited to those engaged in physical work. It is expected that a number of site visit meetings would be held in the catering facility.

Although the operator will be able to source commodities from a supplier of their choice,  the inclusion of some Sainsburys lines within the offer would be very much welcomed.

The developer is looking to engage a local operator for this service and would like to receive expressions of interest from early start businesses or community enterprises.

The successful operator would need to demonstrate:

  • that they could provide a service to meet on site construction needs through the entire development timeframe
  • that they can make an attractive and reliable food and drink offer at competitive prices, reflecting the low overhead costs

In the first instance expressions of interest should be directed to: Simon Bland Economic Prosperity programme Manager
