Report frauds and scams

A magnifying glass positioned over wooden letter blocks spelling the word “FRAUD” on a light grey background. The magnifying lens enlarges part of the word, highlighting the letters at the beginning, creating a visual representation of fraud detection, investigation, or scam awareness.
Fraud and scams can affect businesses of all sizes, causing financial losses and disruption. If your business encounters suspicious activity, it's important to report it so action can be taken and others can be warned.

Fraud can include:

  • Banking and business fraud
  • Buying and investment scams
  • Charity and competition frauds
  • Advance fee fraud
  • Identity theft
  • Online fraud

These should be reported through the national fraud reporting service.

Scams can be reported to Buckinghamshire & Surrey Trading Standards and may include:

  • Cold-calling doorstep traders
  • Rogue traders
  • Unsafe products
  • Scam emails and mail
  • Underage sales
  • Counterfeit goods
  • Loan sharks

Businesses can also help tackle cybercrime by forwarding suspicious emails to report@phishing.gov.uk and suspicious text messages to 7726, free of charge.
