Opus Group opens new office in Reigate

Business Communications provider Opus Telecoms has recently relocated its head office to London Court, London Road Reigate.

The 9,300 square foot space replaces existing offices in Wimbledon and Sevenoaks, and brings the group’s telecoms, networks, managed print and IT services divisions under one roof.

The newly fitted out open plan office has more than 80 desks, a 30-seat conference room, a demonstration suite, several smaller meeting rooms, and break-out zones. The move was necessary to support the continuing growth of the business as it approaches its 25th anniversary this March.

Business community and social value

The benefits of business and charities working together are well established. Our recent workshop identified some great case studies and we are keen to try to establish stronger connections between business and charities locally.

Surrey have a market place which seeks to match charity and community groups requirements with business for mutual benefit.

Redhill Update
Its all go for Redhill

Work has been progressing steadily on the Warwick Quadrant redevelopment, the new Sainsburys store opened in August, the old canopy has been replaced and work is progressing on the paving before new planters go in.  The whole scheme which will include a Travel Lodge, gym and car park with approx 875 spaces, is due to be completed this year.

A planning application has also been submitted for the Marketfield Way site. This can be viewed by searching 16/01066/F on the Planning application search and will be discussed at a future planning committee.

A revised planning application has been received for the former Liquid and Envy site requesting planning permission for 133 apartments and associated parking. You can search reference 16/02680/F on the Planning application search for more information. This will be discussed at a future planning committee.

Make sure you have your say on improvements in your local area

Residents and businesses are being urged to share their views on how money raised from new development should be spent to improve facilities and services in their neighbourhood.

In April 2016, Reigate & Banstead Borough Council introduced the Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL), a new charge which developers of new homes and supermarkets are required to pay to help fund infrastructure and services.

Most of the money generated through the levy will be used to fund large projects – like schools, healthcare and transport. However, 15% of the money collected, known as the Local Improvement Fund will be made available to spend on smaller local projects in the neighbourhoods where development has been built.
