Business Recovery grants
 

Coast to Capital announce the launch of their ‘Business Recovery Grants’ scheme,  aimed at helping small to medium sized organisations in our area recover and grow from the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. The scheme is not only about boosting the local economy, but increasing job creation and retention and social value.

Key details of the scheme:

  • Application window will be open until Friday 18th December 2020
  • Total of £2.1 million funding available
  • Grant range £10,000 to £170,000 (for projects of £20,000 to £340,000)
  • Grant funding must be matched by the applicant (at least 50% of project value)
  • Grant funding must be spent on capital items only (match can include revenue costs)

Redhill based Nourish Smash funding target
 

Nourish Coconut Macaroons and Bites are made using organic coconut, extra-virgin coconut oil, maple syrup, and other natural ingredients. They are free from gluten, grains, dairy and refined sugar. 

 

The company has launched a pitch on Seedrs to raise £65,000 and at the time of writing had secured 117 per cent of the goal.

 

The proceeds will be used to fund Nourish's next stage of growth through building its team and investing in marketing. It will also provide working capital and will allow the business to invest in sustainable packaging.

If you are an employer looking to create job placements for young people, check if you can apply for funding as part of the Kickstart Scheme.

  • Hire a Kickstarter aged 16-24
  • White heavy check markNational Minimum Wage, National Insurance and pension contributions covered for 25 hours a week.
  •  Additional £1,500 for set up, support  and training.

Newly Launched 'Export Support Series'
 

The Department for International Trade South East of England and European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)’s South East Gateway to Trade project, have recently launched a comprehensive programme of virtual events. This programme is part of our new ‘Export Support Series’ to help businesses achieve export success, break into new markets and navigate Coronavirus (COVID-19) business challenges. 


Businesses in the South East of England are now invited to apply for these FREE virtual events. Places are limited and in high demand so please express your interest early. Eligibility criteria apply – please check the event registration page to find out more.

SMEF is a community organisation with charitable and company status their objective is to improve integration, develop the voice and advocate for the needs and aspirations of the multi-ethnic communities living in Surrey.
