YJ is an innovative insuretech startup that meets the insurance needs of cyclists and cycling-related businesses. It is firmly established as a go-to brand in this fast-growing market.

Cyclists want to maximise the time spent on their bikes. The team passionately deliver on the brand promise, “Free Your Ride.” They do so by making cycle insurance as easy and stress-free as possible.

Pedal Cover

The UK’s first specialist Home insurance policy dedicated to cyclists and triathletes underwritten by a leading UK insurance provider, NIG. Pedal Cover combines home and bicycle insurance under one policy to save customers money.

As a team of passionate roadies, mountain bikers and triathletes, Pedal Cover assists customer to get the most out of their sport by providing complete peace of mind.

eavi

The insurance industry can be slow to embrace the modern world. However, eavi (electric & autonomous vehicle insurance) realises electric isn’t the future; it’s the present!

Insurance should help the world, not block its progress. eavi aims to facilitate the introduction of innovative technology, that is why eavi is the UK’s first insurance provider for privately Owned E-scooters.

We are incredibly proud and delighted to have won Best SME Insurance Employer, at the recent British Insurance Awards. This accolade highlights the tremendous work by all involved over the last year, especially throughout the challenges presented by the Covid-19 pandemic.
2019
Pedal Cover Acquired

The Plan Group (TPG) purchased Kingswood Insurance Brokers, the owner of the Pedal Cover Plus brand. The purchase is TPG’s first acquisition, and the specialist home insurance provider doubles the company’s presence in the cycle insurance sector.

2018
Move to Redhill, Surrey

With 80+ employees The Plan Group relocates to Redhill to accommodate its projected growth plans. Leading entrepreneur, Dragons’ Den star and fellow Greek Cypriot, Theo Paphitis joins the family to open the company’s brand new offices.

2017
Grant becomes MD

Grant steps into the role of Managing Director as Ryan focuses on the start-up Yellow Jersey and becomes Chairman for the Group. Scott continues in his role as Corporate Development Director.

2016
We acquire Taxi Plan Insurance

The most significant investment for the business to this point as we purchase the Taxi plan Insurance making us one of the leading taxi insurance suppliers in the UK.

2015
Plan brand refresh

A second brand refresh sees a reworked logo and several sub-brands consolidated into the sole trading name, Plan Insurance Brokers. The company moves forward with its focus fixed on niche commercial insurance markets.

2014
YJ is launched

Yellow Jersey insurance is launched targeting the rapidly emerging market of cycle enthusiasts.

2011
Not on the high street

The Plan Group relocates to its first non-high street premises. The purpose built call centre facilitates further growth.

2005
We acquire Road Runner Select

Ryan makes his first acquisition after becoming MD. He acquires the goodwill of Road Runner Select. This book goes on to form the basis of our commercial combined division.

2001
End of an era

Peter steps back as middle son Ryan becomes M.D. The company re-brands from Peter Scot Ins. to Plan Insurance and focuses on the motor trade market, cv and taxi markets.

1997
Office Merge

Peter Scott Insurance purchase Nicholas Paul Insurance and merge the company with their West Croydon branch. Scott, armed with generously fitting slacks and a busy window is ready for business.

1989
The journey begins

Peter Georgiades and eldest son Scott buy N.C. Hamptons, a high street brokerage in Catford, South East London. The pair creatively name their new company, Peter Scott Insurance Agents.
