Skills boost for Surrey residents and employers

Skills Bootcamps are part of the Government's Lifetime Skills Guarantee, helping everyone gain skills for life. Hampshire County Council has secured £1.8 million from the Department of Education to support learners through Skills Bootcamps in partnership with Surrey County Council.

Skills Bootcamps are available to employers of all sizes and across a variety of sectors within the Hampshire and Surrey areas.  They can be used as an excellent recruitment tool to fill current and future vacancies, including succession planning. Where there are multiple skills shortage vacancies, providers may be able to tailor a course specific to your needs.

For employers wishing to upskill their existing workforce, there is an employer contribution. For SMEs (small to medium-sized businesses with less than 250 employees) there is a 10% contribution. For employers with more than 250 employees, this increases to 30%. Providers will be able to discuss this further with you if applicable.

Unlock the benefits of a sustainable supply chain

Up to 90% of a business' carbon emissions come from its supply chain, but visibility and control beyond the first tier can be a tough nut to crack. Work with the University of Brighton to transform your sustainable supply chain.

From reducing risk to meeting net zero targets, building sustainability into your supply chain is rich with benefits. The university has access to supply chain experts in their business school and, for high-impact projects, there's funding available to help you apply for support and to work with a team of academics.
