Local women's refuge needs help
|
Funding cuts have hit women's refuges, including the local refuge which provides a vital service for women fleeing domestic abuse. There are numerous ways your company may be able to help, from sponsoring a bedroom at the site to collecting Sainsburys and Tesco vouchers, or providing other voluntary support.
Due to the increase of women and children seeking refuge/support the dedicated staff have relocated to garden ‘shed’ offices to free up office space to enable emergency accommodation for more victims of abuse. Local company Osborne have recently carried out some jobs at the site including fitting worktops and improving storage in the garden staff office and fixing garden furniture. Redhill and Reigate Round table have also sponsored a room for a year.
This short BBC clip filmed at Reigate and Banstead Women's Aid explains why the refuges provide such life saving support. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-39529329
If you feel you can help please contact Reigate & Banstead Womens Aid
