It is an exciting time for Redhill, with so much redevelopment work going on. The businesses in Redhill are keen to establish a new Business Guild. The Guild will be run by local businesses for local business. If you have a business based in Redhill why not come along to the first meeting at The Harlequin on Wednesday 7 September 5-7pm and find out how you can get involved.
The Council produces an annual monitor of the amount of office space available in the borough and the latest monitor has just been completed. Headline figures show that between 1 April 2015 and 31 March 2016 the borough lost 9,623sqm of office accommodation, 75% of which is due to office to residential conversions. Over the same time period the amount of available office accommodation available on the open market fell from 33,633sqm to 26,144sqm (22%).
The Government has announced that permitted development rights for the conversion of offices to residential will be made permanent as of 6 April 2016.
