Reigate & Banstead Borough Council is delighted to have won the SteMX award for a business working closely with schools and colleges. We were presented with our certificate and award on 30 September.  The awards recognise the huge wealth of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) skills within the region and the great opportunities that offers to employers.
Reigate & Banstead Borough Council is delighted to have won the SteMX award for a business working closely with schools and colleges. We were presented with our certificate and award on 30 September.  The awards recognise the huge wealth of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) skills within the region and the great opportunities that offers to employers.

Reigate and Banstead work closely with a number of local schools, colleges and local employers in the area to ensure that our workforce meets the needs of local employers. From conducting mock interviews, providing work placements and work experiance. To make sure that young people are aware and able to benefit from local opportunities.

Find out how rail improvement work may affect your business
 
A major programme of improvement work at London Bridge this Christmas will mean major changes to services, including no Southeastern trains stopping at Charing Cross, Waterloo East, Cannon Street and London Bridge. This work is part of the Thameslink Programme, which is continuing to rebuild the railway and station at London Bridge as part of the ongoing project to improve the reliability and frequency of services.

Tadworth Leisure & Community Centre now open
A great opportunity for your staff to let of steam
 
New Tadworth Leisure Centre
Tadworth's new £11 million leisure centre is now open with a full range of fantasic facilities and activities, with corporate memberships available.  There will be an open day and official opening ceremony on Saturday 17 October, 12-4pm. Throughout the afternoon, you'll have the chance to take part in a number of activities and free taster sessions, plus much much more including:
  • a fun trail for kids around the revamped and renamed Preston Park
  • face painting and bouncy castle
  • updates on local improvements and new homes
  • pedal your way to a fresh smoothie on Sustrans smoothie bike
  • a prize draw, to win a year's center membership

If you have just taken on your first employee, take a look at Becoming an Employer  from HMRC.     

This e learning product been been broken down into bite-size sections so each subject can be dipped into at leisure. 

It provides support with PAYE and day to day payroll tasks. It will also help with understanding tax and Class 1 National Insurance.


Hearing loop awareness week
Hearing loop awareness week will be running from 2 - 8 November, local volunteers will check the availability and condition of hearing loops in shops, banks, churches, railway stations, libraries in their local neighbourhood.
