Save the date! Members’ Induction Event at 6pm, Thursday 9th May 2024

All elected Members are invited to the induction event taking place on Thursday 9^th May at the Town Hall from 6-9pm.

The evening is a chance to meet and support new members and will include overviews on the Corporate Plan, refreshers on key services and essential information.

REMINDER: Outside Bodies Annual Reports 2023-24

If you have not yet completed your Outside Body annual report for 2023-24, please can you do so as soon as possible and by Friday 26 April at the latest.

The annual report will state where a submission has not been supplied.

The purpose of the annual report is to demonstrate that:

the Council has developed knowledge of outside bodies’ priorities and concerns.
there is accountability for each appointment.
there is transparency in how the Council is representing residents’ interests on outside bodies, particularly those in which the Council has a financial / charitable interest.

Please note that we have extended the deadline to Friday 26 April.

If there are issues regarding the Outside Body which you wish to raise, this should be done directly with officers in the Community Partnerships team.

Banstead & District RBL Anniversary Concert

To celebrate their 100 Year Anniversary the Banstead and District Royal British Legion have organised a special concert on Friday 31 May.

Join us for a captivating journey through the last 100 years of music, featuring iconic pieces from every decade, including melodies and powerful anthems that defined the music of WW1 and WW2 through to classic soul and rat pack.

Featured acts include Colin Roy ('5 guys named Mo' from The West End), the Allegra Concert Band, Kate Bassett, Surrey Jive, Sarah Pullen, and the Sing Choir.

Banstead & District RBL Centenary Lunch

Join us for a celebratory lunch commemorating the centenary of the Royal British Legion Banstead & District branch. Honour a century of service and support to veterans and their families while enjoying a delicious meal in the company of fellow supporters.

Department for Education confirms sponsor for new specialist free school in Frimley, Surrey

Surrey County Council is pleased to announce that the Secretary of State for Education has confirmed London South East Academies Trust (LSEAT) as the official sponsor to establish a new specialist school in Surrey Heath.

Frimley Oak Academy will be delivered by the Department for Education’s Special Free Schools Programme and partly funded by Surrey County Council’s Capital Programme. Once built, this new free school will serve pupils aged 11-19 years with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.
