Surrey Hills National Landscape Management Plan - A 75 Year Vision for a Thriving Place for People and Nature.

Please find located in your pigeonholes a copy of the Executive Summary of the new Management Plan for the Surrey Hills National Landscape.

The Management Plan is a statutory document that Reigate & Banstead Council adopted on 23 October 2025.  All public bodies have a legal duty to further the purpose of the designated landscape in carrying out its functions by having regard to the Targets, Strategic Priorities and Policy Framework in the Plan.  These are set out in the Executive Summary which includes links to the evidence and justification in the full Management Plan which can be found online.

The Management Plan is required to be kept under review and adopted on a no less than 5-year basis. A new Management Plan will be reviewed considering the proposed 30% extension to the Surrey Hills National Landscape and adoption by the new unitary authorities in 2027.

In the meantime, new governance arrangements are being put in place with an extended Partnership Board and a new Members Steering Group.

Please contact me or the Surrey Hills National Landscape Director, rob.fairbanks@surreyhills.org, if you would like any further information on the Management Plan.
