Planned Ash die back removal
The Executive Committee has approved ash dieback removal works across Banstead Downs and Park Downs, Burgh Heath and Banstead Heath, and Reigate Hill, where around 1,000 trees have been identified as posing a significant risk to public safety. The works will be carried out this winter in partnership with specialist contractors and environmental bodies, with all ecological requirements met. Further details, including access arrangements, will be shared in due course. While the impact on these woodlands will be significant, the works are essential to keep residents and visitors safe, and long-term recovery will be supported through natural regeneration and replanting where needed.
