RBBC finalists for Apprenticeship Programme of the Year at The Learning Awards

Reigate & Banstead Borough Council has been shortlisted as a finalist for Apprenticeship Programme of the Year at The Learning Awards 2026.

These awards recognise the very best organisations across the UK and beyond — from Microsoft and KPMG to the NHS and Vodafone. To see Reigate & Banstead standing proudly among these names is a huge achievement and something to celebrate. This recognition reflects the amazing work of our apprentices, who bring energy, creativity, and commitment to everything they do, and our managers, who guide, support, and champion them every step of the way. Together, they’ve helped shape a programme that’s not only about qualifications, but about confidence, growth, and creating real career pathways within the council.

Get Connected

On 26th November, 9:30am-1pm at Horley Community Centre we are running our ‘Get Connected’ event for local professionals and organisations who work with young people. This year we are supporting the prevention of Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) and Domestic Abuse, working with East Surrey Domestic Abuse Services (ESDAS) and the VAWG team at Surrey County Council to hold Get Connected during The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence annual national campaign.

The event will have ‘market stalls’ to raise awareness of services and there will be focused small group discussions and learning around how we can best empower and upskill young people and their parents around digital skills, online safety and healthy relationships.

We are extending this invitation out to local Councillors as an opportunity to increase knowledge around this important area of safeguarding, and in case it is of interest to your both professionally or personally. If you are interested to attend, please email communitypartnerships@reigate-banstead.gov.uk

Postal voters now need to reapply every three years

Postal voters who applied for their postal vote on before 31 January 2024 are now required to reapply for their postal vote by 31 January 2026, otherwise, they will expire, and electors will need to vote in person. The new rule follows changes introduced under the Elections Act. We are emailing and writing to affected electors who need to reapply to let them know that they need to take action. Applications can be made online, with options for those not able to do so. More information is available on our Reapplying for your postal vote webpage.

We’d be grateful if you could assist in sharing our communications messages.
