A new Community Asset Support Scheme is now open, providing up to £200,000 of grant funding to support improvements to community assets across the borough.
The scheme offers grants of between £3,000 and £20,000 to voluntary, community and not-for-profit organisations to make practical, lasting improvements to community assets that they own or hold on a long-term lease. These could include facilities such as village halls, sports pavilions, scout huts and green spaces that support local people and bring communities together.
The funding forms part of the Community Asset Transfer and Support Programme, approved in September 2025.
Applications close at 5pm on 2 November 2026.
Members are encouraged to share details of the scheme with eligible organisations in their wards. As part of the assessment process, Ward Councillors will be invited to provide comments on applications relating to assets in their areas.
