Dear Councillors
We request that you complete mandatory cybersecurity training provided via our CybSafe platform. Please go to https://app.cybsafe.com/login
At the Welcome screen, please use the “Log in with Microsoft” option as highlighted below. Please do not use the email address option as this will create a duplicate account.

This training is a crucial aspect of our collective efforts to secure your digital environment, enabling you to identify and address potential threats. With this knowledge, we can protect not only our data but also our reputation.
You will shortly receive an email from emailsecurity@reigate-banstead.gov.uk, asking you to log into your CybSafe account and complete the training. There are 8 essential modules and the first 4 are listed below. They will take around 3 – 5 minutes each to complete:
Am I really a target?
Focus: Spotting fake emails
Browsing securely
Passphrases
The training will highlight common indicators of phishing emails such as:
- **Suspicious Sender**: Always verify the sender's email address. If it appears unusual or does not match the expected domain, it may be a phishing attempt.
- **Urgent Language**: Phishing emails often employ urgent or language to prompt immediate action.
- **Unexpected Attachments or Links**: Never open attachments or clicking on links in unsolicited emails.
- **Spelling and Grammar Errors**: Many phishing emails contain noticeable spelling or grammatical mistakes.
- **Requests for Personal Information**: Legitimate organizations will never request sensitive information via email.
If you have received a phishing email: please notify servicedesk@reigate-banstead.gov.uk (01737 276464) immediately so that the ICT can investigate and warn other potential recipients.
Please ensure that you complete these training modules by 31 December 2025 to equip yourselves effectively for handling cyber threats.
Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to maintaining the security of our digital workspace.
