2026 Residents’ Survey: results now available

Our survey asked residents about their satisfaction with life in general within the borough, with 74% saying they felt satisfied. The most important reasons given for this were education, wellbeing services and local economy and job prospects.

Satisfaction with council-provided services has also improved compared to last year’s survey. The services that residents reported the highest satisfaction with were Waste, Parks & Greenspaces, and Sports & Leisure. The level of satisfaction with council’s Communications and Customer Services has been consistently higher than the national average.

Insights from the Residents' Survey are being used across the council to support evidence-based decision-making. The findings are being tailored to individual service areas, helping teams better understand residents' needs and priorities so that services can be planned, targeted, and improved more effectively.
