Winter Warmth Member Development Session – Monday 2 December, 7-8pm
This briefing will give you the insights and knowledge you need to support and champion these essential services in your communities. The Winter Warmth Member Development Session will:
- outline key policies and Surrey County Council’s strategy for improving outcomes for residents in relation to keeping warm, increasing home energy efficiency and reducing Surrey's carbon footprint as we strive to achieve net zero Surrey by 2050.
- provide an in-depth overview of the practical support and resources available to residents, including funding options, advice, and services to help achieve warmer, more energy-efficient homes this winter. As well as options for in-person support, including warm hubs, at no-cost.
- give councillors the opportunity to hear firsthand from local residents who have benefited from these schemes, sharing their experiences and the tangible impact these programs have had on their lives.
Councillors from county, district, borough and parish councils across Surrey will have the opportunity to engage with key officers involved in the delivery of the winter warmth services, ask questions, and understand how they can identify residents most at need.
