We are looking for community groups and organisations who are interested in operating and managing the new Westvale Park Neighbourhood Hall in Horley. The new fully accessible building will be a welcoming space where people can come together. It will offer a range of facilities including sports and physical activity, a large main hall, kitchen, meeting rooms, and clinical spaces for a local GP practice. Helping kids be active this half term
 

Our school holiday programme encourages young people to put down their screens so they can learn new skills, enjoy the outdoors, develop social skills, and improve their physical and mental health. From African drumming to creative journaling, indoor golf and multisports, to scootering and skateboarding, our programme has lots to keep your kids more active or creative. We keep the costs as low as possible and, if you’re in receipt of benefits or have a looked after child, you may be eligible for a 50% discount.

Harlequin Theatre exterior
Executive commits £10 million to The Harlequin Theatre
 

The Council's Executive agreed to earmark up to £10 million for work to bring The Harlequin Theatre back into use at its meeting on Thursday 30 January. It follows confirmation in December 2024 that the majority of reinforced autoclaved concrete (RAAC) throughout the building is classified as critical risk.The Executive agreed recommendations to progress a diverse arts and cultural offer for the local community including plans for a 200 seat performance space in The Rise development in central Redhill, expanding its arts development offer as well as work to bring the theatre building in Warwick quadrant back into use.

You now have until Friday 21 February to let us know your sporting heroes and why they should win one of 12 awards - which celebrate players, clubs, coaches and volunteers that make community sport possible. There are awards for all ages and abilities, including a new Sustainability in Sport Award. Shortlisted finalists and their nominees will be invited to a very special awards ceremony at Reigate Manor on Friday 11 April.

Healthwatch Surrey is undertaking research to better understand access to and experience of GP practices for people who have experienced, or are experiencing domestic abuse. We would like to hear from anyone who has accessed, or tried to access support through their GP practice.The findings will help inform future service development and enhance training requirements. Tax credits are set to end in April 2025. The Department of Work and Pensions is urging Tax Credit customers to respond to their Universal Credit migration notices before the deadline so that they can continue to receive benefits. Please respond now to avoid missing out on your benefits.

Child benefit changes coming in April
Up to £1,331 a year in Child Benefit, don't miss out!
 

This April, the amount you can earn before you need to start paying the High Income Child Benefit Charge will increase from £50,000 to £60,000. If you and your partner both have an adjusted net income of less than £60,000, you no longer have to pay the charge. Claiming on the HMRC app or online is quick and easy.

NIHR Health Determinants Research Collaborations
New research collaboration aims to reduce health inequalities
 

Surrey County Council (SCC) has been awarded five years of funding by the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) to create a Health Determinants Research Collaboration (HDRC). HDRC Surrey is a partnership between SCC, the University of Surrey, district and borough councils (including Reigate & Banstead), as well as voluntary and community partners. The £5m funding will help to build capacity to do research on prevention and create a culture of using evidence in making decisions. Their vision is to improve the health of local residents and reduce health inequalities which are driven by the social determinants of health.
