Covid rates are very high in Reigate and Banstead
Have a safe Christmas

Covid-19 rates have been very high in the borough recently and cases of the highly infectious Omicron variant have been confirmed. Please, follow the guidance to protect yourself, your loved ones, and the community. We all deserve to enjoy this festive period. Book your booster. It’s now mandatory to wear your mask in most indoor public spaces, unless exempt. Let fresh air in to blow Covid particles away when mixing indoors with others.

Covid-19 update

Get boosted now

Under the Government's Plan B measures, introduced in response to the highly infectious Omicron variant of Covid-19, it is now mandatory to wear a face covering in most indoor settings including shops, theatres, cinemas and on public transport. You should work from home if you can. If you need to continue to go into work, please test regularly using rapid lateral flow tests, to manage your own risk and the risk to others.

Getting your Covid booster vaccine is still the most effective way to protect yourself against the virus and anyone over the age of 18 can book theirs now. If the system is busy, please be patient. Remember, it’s never too late to book your first or second jab. Book all vaccine appointments here.

An NHS Covid Pass is now required to enter certain venues including nightclubs, indoor venues with more than 500 people, and outdoor venues with more than 4,000 people. Find out the latest information and get a Covid Pass here.

You must self-isolate for at least seven days and book a PCR Test if you test positive for Covid. This also applies if you have Covid symptoms and are waiting for the results of a PCR test. If your lateral flow tests continue to test positive on day six and day seven of your isolation, you will need to isolate for the full 10-day period since first testing positive or developing symptoms. If you live with someone who has tested positive, or are identified by NHS Test and Trace as a close contact of someone who has tested positive, you can find the latest rules here.

Covid rates have been extremely high across the borough and Surrey in recent weeks, so let’s do everything we can to prevent transmission of this new variant so we can keep each other safe... Be considerate - Be cautious - Think about the risks. Find out more on the Covid rates where you are here.
