From local charities and food banks to youth groups, and neighbourhood initiatives, their dedication is the heartbeat of our borough. Volunteers, you embody the very best of the Christmas spirit and I know a good number will be supporting others through this season - thank you for continuing efforts. On the Mayoral engagement front it has been very busy, with visits to care homes, attending school nativity plays and Christmas productions, end of year events for organisations and charity fundraisers. Rather than highlighting any particular ones, I thought that some of the pictures from some of the events, might tell the story. (See below.) As we approach Christmas itself, I will be thinking of those who are on duty, working or looking after others at this time, know how much we value your efforts - thank you. To you all, may this festive season bring peace, joy, and cherished moments with your loved ones. I wish you a peaceful, joyful Christmas and a very happy New Year. The workshop was led by Shaun and Logan from Squire's Garden Centres [ https://rbbc.newsweaver.co.uk/14mowixtqy/2ikeecxdzr1/external ] - Reigate and Crawley, who also generously provided the materials for the class to get really creative. What a festive event it was and best of all, everyone went home with a wreath ready for their door in good time for Christmas. Huge thanks to everyone who contributed and made the event such a success. Home-Start were able to explain briefly what they do to help local families and thank everyone for their support. Personally, we were very pleased to see and hear how proud attendees were with their wreaths and many said how much they wanted to bring friends along next time! 23 Dec 2025 12:00:00 GMT e905fcb34976e3450a1eb3f53942d990 ARTICLE_1_COLUMN-clone-33254987-20251007-142240 <div class="xdj266r x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x1vvkbs x126k92a" style="overflow-wrap: break-word; white-space: pre-wrap; margin-inline: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; font-family: 'Segoe UI Historic', 'Segoe UI', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; color: #080809; font-size: 15px; background-color: #ffffff;"> <div dir="auto" style="font-family: inherit; text-align: left;">We had the pleasure of hosting a wreath-making workshop in the historic Town Hall in Reigate for <span class="html-span xdj266r x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak xexx8yu xyri2b x18d9i69 x1c1uobl x1hl2dhg x16tdsg8 x1vvkbs" style="text-decoration-line: none; text-align: inherit; overflow-wrap: break-word; margin-inline: 0px; padding-inline: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; padding-top: 0px;"><a class="x1i10hfl xjbqb8w x1ejq31n x18oe1m7 x1sy0etr xstzfhl x972fbf x10w94by x1qhh985 x14e42zd x9f619 x1ypdohk xt0psk2 x3ct3a4 xdj266r x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak xexx8yu xyri2b x18d9i69 x1c1uobl x16tdsg8 x1hl2dhg xggy1nq x1a2a7pz xkrqix3 x1sur9pj x1fey0fg x1s688f" style="color: #0064d1; cursor: pointer; text-decoration-line: none; outline-style: none; text-align: inherit; font-weight: 600; list-style-type: none; box-sizing: border-box; display: inline; touch-action: manipulation; border-inline-width: 0px; margin-inline: 0px; border-inline-style: none; padding-inline: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; border-top-style: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-bottom-style: none; border-top-width: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" tabindex="0" role="link" href="https://rbbc.newsweaver.co.uk/14mowixtqy/1jy75fc21h2/external">Home-Start East Surrey</a>. <img align="right" src="https://scontent-lhr6-2.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t39.30808-6/595452398_791308353958252_604605677054480592_n.jpg?_nc_cat=100&ccb=1-7&_nc_sid=833d8c&_nc_ohc=4RgHY8tyGUgQ7kNvwHv8CBZ&_nc_oc=AdlLvkUxTBuTHlZGGrS-aJ8mLotd1Eh4rB_sikIwArlY9qkitYkS5o0BgL7nrFgEks8&_nc_zt=23&_nc_ht=scontent-lhr6-2.xx&_nc_gid=4I64YCVr_36Lh6OC1oP7CA&oh=00_AfmQbv8x5LSSOHcmEdCatYZD3x6Wa7aNNfsq0w9xv0I5aQ&oe=69503B6A" width="360" height="240" alt="May be an image of pine cone"> </div> <div dir="auto" style="font-family: inherit;"> </div> <div dir="auto" style="font-family: inherit; text-align: left;">The workshop was led by Shaun and Logan from <span class="html-span xdj266r x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak xexx8yu xyri2b x18d9i69 x1c1uobl x1hl2dhg x16tdsg8 x1vvkbs" style="text-decoration-line: none; text-align: inherit; overflow-wrap: break-word; margin-inline: 0px; padding-inline: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; padding-top: 0px;"><a class="x1i10hfl xjbqb8w x1ejq31n x18oe1m7 x1sy0etr xstzfhl x972fbf x10w94by x1qhh985 x14e42zd x9f619 x1ypdohk xt0psk2 x3ct3a4 xdj266r x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak xexx8yu xyri2b x18d9i69 x1c1uobl x16tdsg8 x1hl2dhg xggy1nq x1a2a7pz xkrqix3 x1sur9pj x1fey0fg x1s688f" style="color: #0064d1; cursor: pointer; text-decoration-line: none; outline-style: none; text-align: inherit; font-weight: 600; list-style-type: none; box-sizing: border-box; display: inline; touch-action: manipulation; border-inline-width: 0px; margin-inline: 0px; border-inline-style: none; padding-inline: 0px; padding-bottom: 0px; border-top-style: none; border-bottom-width: 0px; border-bottom-style: none; border-top-width: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px; margin-top: 0px; padding-top: 0px;" tabindex="0" role="link" href="https://rbbc.newsweaver.co.uk/14mowixtqy/2ikeecxdzr1/external">Squire's Garden Centres</a> - Reigate and Crawley, who also generously provided the materials for the class to get really creative. </div> <div dir="auto" style="font-family: inherit; text-align: left;"> </div> <div dir="auto" style="font-family: inherit; text-align: left;">What a festive event it was and best of all, everyone went home with a wreath ready for their door in good time for Christmas.</div> <div dir="auto" style="font-family: inherit; text-align: left;"> </div> <div dir="auto" style="font-family: inherit; text-align: left;">Huge thanks to everyone who contributed and made the event such a success.
