Redhill Arts Takeover

Arts Takeover is bringing the feel-good factor into Redhill

We're excited to reveal the line-up for this year's Arts Takeover, which promises to entertain, inspire and surprise visitors to Redhill between 5 and 12 September. Headliners include Blur drummer, Dave Rowntree; 80s ska band, Potato 5; and author of the Rivers of London series, Ben Aaronovitch.

There will be plenty of homegrown talent on show too, along with opportunities to take part and join in. The Redhill Arts Takeover sees artists, performers and local organisations come together to celebrate creativity and connect local communities.

During the week-long festival, more than 30 events will take over venues across the town and bring art and culture out onto the streets. Many performances are completely free to enjoy.

Music in the Town

Music in the Town

Redhill will be making more noise than ever. As Redhill’s live music scene continues to grow, so too does the musical offering for Arts Takeover.

Music in the Town this year will feature two live music stages with bands performing on the opening and closing Saturdays of the festival. Local music charity, Redstart, will be running the Redstart Music Stage on 5 September, and Canada Hill will be curating Up the Junction on 12 Sepbember.

We're also excited to be working with Front Room Songs, who are presenting a programme of unique and intimate house concerts featuring Danny Griffiths, Dave Rowntree and Rosza. Tickets for these go on sale at 10am on Friday 3 July so don't miss out!

Other musical highlights include Mini Folk and a Redhill Rising Flash Mob.

Write out Loud

Write Out Loud

New for 2026, Write Out Loud is a series of events celebrating the written and spoken word.

There is a brand new initiative to give local writers and performers a platform on which to showcase a 15-minute extract of their writing.

Redhill's first Spoken Word Cafe will welcome poets of all abilities to come and explore poetry in front of an encouraging audience; and we're looking for your favourite poems for a Poetry Trail in the town centre.

You'll also have the chance to hear from published local authors and enjoy an Evening with Ben Aaronovitch, plus much more.
