Welcome

Find out what the Reigate & Banstead Communications team has been working on this month...

... and, perhaps more importantly, how you can support these campaigns and issues as Council Members.

#OurDay 2019

Tuesday 19 November was #OurDay – and, according to the LGA, nearly 23,000 tweets were posted by more than 7,400 accounts, reaching 22 million people on Twitter alone.

Many residents don't realise how often they come into contact with council teams or services, so we created a ‘Day In The Life’-style video to help educate them. Take a look:

Meet our new Comms Manager

Lucy Rispin started with us on 18 November. She joins us from international communications agency Ogilvy Health, where she worked for 11 years.

Having led account teams for many health-related clients, Lucy brings a wealth of experience in delivering integrated communications strategies such as awareness campaigns, crisis management, media relations and stakeholder engagement.

Many years ago, Lucy was part of the Communications team at Network Rail (then Railtrack) where she gained an appreciation of the breadth of hot topics that a large, visible, public facing organisation needs to manage.

If you haven’t met Lucy yet, please do drop past the Comms team on MB0 and say ‘Hi’. Don’t hesitate to email her directly.

Borough News survey feedback

We pleased to say that over 400 residents completed our recent readers' survey.

Overall, the results were positive. Receiving a copy of Borough News through the door was voted as the most popular channel of communication by respondents, and readers particularly like the News and What's On sections.

Parks and green spaces were chosen as the area of most interest, closely followed by Environmental issues and Recycling.

We are currently preparing our Spring 2020 issue (out in March) and will be incorporating some of these themes.

Tips for voters

In the run up to polling day, we will be sharing tips for voters to make sure they how to cast their vote and to pre-empt the questions that are commonly asked of our Customer Contact Team.

We’ll be doing this via our social media channels, website and a news release. We’d be grateful if you could share our posts to increase their reach. We'll also be live-tweeting key updates from the election count on 12 December.
