On behalf of Democratic Services, congratulations on your election to the Council and welcome to the first edition of our rebranded Weekly Newsletter – ReMember.
It is a source of helpful information to support your role and is despatched at the end of every week.

This year we welcome 30 returning Councillors and 15 newly elected Councillors.
In the Induction pack provided to Members at the count, was a welcome letter that provided the details of the Democratic Services contact details. The letter is dated 3 May 2019 and is for all Councillors from Chris Phelan, Democratic Services Manager.
Completion of Forms: Could all Members remember to complete the forms that were included in your Induction pack at the count and return them to Democratic Services please.
To support the newly elected Councillors in settling into their role a Democratic Services Mentor has been appointed and they will be in touch with you to set up a meeting as soon as possible.

Member Induction Day - Saturday 11 May
Following last week’s local elections, a Member Induction Day will take place at the Town Hall, Reigate this Saturday (11 May) from 9.15am.
This one day event is for all councillors and will cover a wide range of issues from admin formalities, council structures and decision making, partnership working, data protection, the code of conduct, local government finance, safeguarding and plans/strategies such as the emerging Corporate Plan and Housing Strategy.
There will also be lunch and “market place activities” which will provide opportunities to meet Senior Officers (Chief Executive, Directors and Heads of Service) from across the Council.
Please arrive from 9.15am to register, have your photo taken (if required) and return completed admin forms. Refreshments will be available upon arrival.
Car parking has been reserved for all members in the main car park, please park in the relevant signed/reserved areas.
