New grant scheme
Apply for the new Business, Employment, Growth and Skills grant (BEGS)

The Grant has been created to support local small businesses who are looking to expand, enter new markets, become more environmentally sustainable, increase their efficiency or capacity, and follow their growth trajectory.

It is for small businesses of up to 49 employees who can demonstrate real growth.

The award is a ‘one off’ grant, intended to help small businesses grow by enabling them to gain new accredited skills or invest in new plant or premises that would lead to the recruitment of new staff, including apprentices. We will also look favourably on applications that reduce the environmental impact of your business and/ or your products.

The Council has allocated £100,000 to this initiative with individual awards available of up to £5,000 per business.

Reigate & Banstead’s next Corporate Plan

The work that the Council does, including our support for local businesses and our town and village centres, is guided by its Corporate Plan. We’ve started the process of reviewing and updating our plan for the next five years, and will be undertaking a consultation on its proposals later in the year.

In the meantime, if you have any ideas you'd like to feed in, colleagues from the Corporate Policy Team will be attending the RBBC 'Using Influencer Campaigns' Learning Lunch on 29 February and will be available during the networking break to hear your views and suggestions.  If you would like to find out more, you can contact the Corporate Policy Team at: rbbc2025@reigate-banstead.gov.uk

Fancy a charity challenge in 2024?

YMCA East Surrey invites you to take part in their Challenge Events in 2024. There are various activities to choose from, including sleeping out for the night on 8 March, walking or running along the North Downs on 24 March, cycling around the Isle of Wight from 7 to 9 June, and participating in the YMCA Fun Run on 5 May. There’s something for everyone!

If you can’t take part, you can still contribute by sponsoring a box at the YMCA Sleep Easy event on 8 March here: www.ymcaeastsurrey.org.uk/sleepeasybox/

Last year, participants helped raise funds to purchase a mobile youth bus for YMCA's youth workers. This year, funds will go towards YMCA’s youth homelessness projects. To get involved or to form a team, contact the Challenge team at: challenge@ymcaeastsurrey.org.uk
