Mock interviews at The Warwick School
20 November - could you help?

The Warwick School
The Warwick School carry out award-winning careers guidance and promotion. To supplement these activities, they want to give Year 11 students some practical interview experience on 20 November.  They will be holding mock job/college interviews for all for these students.

The interviews will take place every 20 minutes. Students will have been "prepared" for these interviews and will already have completed a CV which they will have at the interview.

To make the interviews as realistic as possible the School are seeking over 15 adult external "interviewers". Any background or experience in HR or Personnel roles would be great but not essential. More importantly will be the willingness to engage with the young people (aged 15/16) to give them a taste of a real interview and to experience the expectations of potential future interviewers. They will provide questions to ask and material to support the interviews.

The School have run this event for the last two years very successfully just before the students undertake interviews for their Further Education College places - with the Colleges subsequently highlighting how well the Warwick students present themselves. If you would be able to help please contact

Is food your business?

If you run a café, restaurant or provide food as part of your business, we would love to hear your views in our latest survey about food hygiene.

With so many businesses in Reigate & Banstead achieving a 5 rating for food hygiene, cafes, B&Bs, canteens and small businesses with lower scores are interested in improving their rating but aren’t sure where to start.

Reigate & Banstead Borough Council is considering offering advice on a commercial basis to help businesses improve their hygiene policies and practices and hopefully help them achieve a higher rating.

We are asking local food-related businesses about how they get their food hygiene advice. All entrants can enter a prize draw for a £50 Amazon voucher (terms and conditions apply). To be in with a chance on winning, just complete the survey

General Data Protection Regulation
The Government has announced plans to overhaul UK data protection laws, introducing a new General Data Protection Regulation. The regulation will provide everyone with the confidence that their data will be managed securely and safely according to the Minister of State for Digital. Under the plans individuals will have more control over their data by having the right to be forgotten and ask for their personal data to be erased.

Make sure your company is prepared by reading this Information Commisioners Office Data Protection Toolkit.
