Cyber Unpacked
We've witnessed a rise in cyber threats to local government. Everyone plays a role protecting against cyber risks.
The LGA have launched Cyber Unpacked - a series of ten animated videos explaining key cyber security topics for all council staff and members.
The featured topics include ransomware, phishing, passwords, data and more.

Cyber Security Awareness Month
This October is a great opportunity to emphasise the importance of cyber security for all staff in your council.
Ideas for making use of our Cyber Unpacked videos:
- Lead an information sharing session with colleagues
- Make a post on your internal communications channels (e.g.: Sharepoint)
- Hold a quiz event with questions based on the videos
- Add an agenda point to a meeting to discuss cyber security considerations
- Consider reviewing your council's cyber security in a 360 or incident reaction exercise
Cyber Unpacked is the first module of Unpacking Digitalisation, a series of short explainer videos on digital concepts, created to support officers and councillors who are digital newcomers.
Please share this with colleagues that may find this interesting or relevant.
