Thursday 8 May 2025 – VE Day 80
 

Thursday 8 May will mark the 80th Anniversary of VE Day and the end of the Second World War in Europe.

To commemorate this monumental moment, communities across the UK and the World will mark the date.

 

Reigate & Banstead Borough Council will proudly be taking part.

 

At 9.00am across the nation VE Day 80 Flags will be raised, with a flag being flown at Reigate Town Hall.

In the evening, at 9.30pm, the beacon in Reigate Priory Park will be lit as part of a national beacon lighting event, remembering the sacrifices made by so many millions throughout World War Two – Lest We Forget.
